Taras Shevchenko National University Needs Help
02.01.2023
Dear colleagues, partners and all people concerned,
Russia terrorist country keeps launching massive bombing attacks at civil, infrastructural and cultural objects falsely claiming them to be the military ones. These attacks aim to sow fear, destruct our nation’s cultural and genetic connections and derail the development of education and culture.
On 31 December 2022, New Year’s Eve, the buildings of the Exhibition Campus of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv were damaged by a missile attack.
The significant damage was made to the buildings of the Institute of Biology and Medicine Scientific and Educational Center, Scientific and Educational Institute of High Technologies, Faculties of Psychology, Sociology, Computer Sciences and Cybernetics, Radiophysics, Electronics and Computer Systems, Mechanics and Mathematics, Geography, as well as laboratory building, Department of Nuclear Physics, cryogenic complex of the Faculty of Physics, sports facilities, Ukrainian Physics and Mathematics Lyceum and some students’ residence halls.
This time the losses caused by the missile are several times as high as the losses the University suffered during the massive missile attack of Kyiv on 10 October 2022 when damage was made to the Red (Main) Building of Taras Shevchenko National University, Yellow Building of the Scientific and Educational Institute of Philology, buildings of M. Maksymovych Scientific Library, the Chemistry Faculty and the conservatory of O. Fomin Botanical Garden.
Today, on 1 January 2023, Shevchenko University family gathered to begin clearing up premises and territory as soon as possible, remove broken glass and cover blown-out windows with a sheeting and plywood to save the premises and laboratory equipment from cold and precipitations. That is the first thing to do, but the full renovation will require significant efforts and financial resources.
Hence, we appeal again to all our partners and people concerned asking to support Taras Shevchenko University in this difficult time.
We thank everyone who has already made contribution to renovate the buildings damaged in October. Thanks to the support of the Ukrainian government, our partners from Turkey, Japan, South Korea and people concerned in Ukraine as well as from all over the world, the University already has new windows in the Red and Yellow Buildings and M. Maksymovych Scientific Library.
Everyone able to take part in renovating the buildings at the Exhibition Campus may make a charitable contribution.
When making a donation, please specify the payment purpose as charitable aid for renovating the buildings suffered from a missile attack.

From Ukrainian University Club:
Ukrainian University Club supports Taras Shevchenko National University’s call for help, although the small number of visitors to our website is unlikely to have a significant impact on this fundraising.
At the same time, we would like to emphasize that Taras Shevchenko National University has long been the Ukraine’s leading university and one of the largest universities in the Ukrainian capital.
Despite the fact that there are many universities in Kyiv, numerous shellings of Ukraine’s capital by Russian troops twice hit the Taras Shevchenko National University, damaging campuses located far from each other, and this is certainly not a coincidence.
There is some kind of God’s providence in this as a kind of punishment for sins, for something wrong done by this flagship of higher education and science in Ukraine.
It will be strange for representatives of traditional or classical science and education, but the pro-Ukrainian (although not Ukrainian by origin) Vedic astrologer Alakh Niranjan these days in an interview with the Politeka Online TV channel provided observations and forecasts regarding the Russia’s war in Ukraine, in which he also provided explanations, which may also apply to the Taras Shevchenko National University, and it is worth listening to them. Listen carefully what Mr. Niranjan is talking about Ukrainian intellectual elite:
Oddly enough, Alakh Niranjan’s observations, recommendations and forecasts are very consistent with those views on science and education in independent Ukraine, on Ukrainian intellectual elite, expressed in articles and notes by Professor Volodymyr Ivanenko, the former Assistant Rector, Deputy Dean for Research and Associate Professor of Journalism at the Taras Shevchenko National University:
